I used to be super intimidated by “milk making,” but once I started I just couldn’t stop!. It’s really so simple and the finished product tastes AMAZING! Not to mention homemade nut milks are generally cheaper than store-bought, and it’s nice knowing exactly what ingredients are being used and having control over that. I encourage everyone to take this recipe and try it out for yourself. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
NEED IT:
- 2 cups unsweetened, shredded organic coconut
- 4 cups hot filtered water
- 1 tsp vanilla
MIX IT:
Add coconut shreds in a blender and pour hot water on top. Blend for 2-3 minutes on high and strain using a mesh strainer or this nut milk bag into a mason jar. Stir in vanilla extract. Refrigerate and use within 3-4 days.
DRINK IT:
I use this milk in my beloved matcha lattes, smoothies, and chia pudding!
