Ahhh pumpkin spice. I remember a time when I couldn’t stand the smell of it (I was crazy I know) and now I pretty much consume it during the entire season of fall. I love sitting down in the mornings with a warm bowl of oatmeal during the colder months.
NEED IT:
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (I use Bob’s, Red Mill)
- 1 tsp raw local honey
- homemade pumpkin spice (recipe below)
- 1/2 banana
- pumpkin cinnamon granola (Purely Elizabeth brand)
COOK IT:
Bring 1 cup of filtered water to a boil. Add oats, reduce heat, and cook for about 10-12 minutes or until preferred consistency is reached. Remove from heat and let cool.
TOP IT:
Once cooled, add honey and pumpkin spice and mix well. Top with sliced banana and granola.
PUMPKIN SPICE RECIPE:
- 3 TBSP ground cinnamon, 2 tsp ground ginger, 2 tsp ground nutmeg, 1.5 tsp ground allspice, and 1.5 tsp ground clove. Store in a small jar and use it with all your favorite fall recipes!
